The hardness of water is mainly formed and expressed by calcium and magnesium, so cation exchange resin (softener) is generally used to replace calcium and magnesium ions in water. When the resin absorbs a certain amount of calcium and magnesium ions, the effect will decrease, and regeneration must be performed at this time. The regeneration process is to flush the resin layer with salt water in the salt tank to replace the hardness ions on the resin, and the resin will resume its softening exchange function.

Softening water equipment is a device for reducing water hardness, mainly used to remove calcium and magnesium ions from water, activate water quality, kill bacteria and algae, and prevent scaling. The softening water equipment cannot reduce the total salt content of the water during the softening process. It is widely used in hot water boiler systems, heat exchange systems, industrial cooling systems, central air conditioning systems, washing systems, and other water equipment systems.
